Jeremiah Ray, based in coastal Maine, is an interdisciplinary artist and writer with an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work, whether visual or written, reflects a lifelong process of exploration and discovery. In his early years, Jeremiah traveled extensively, immersing himself in languages and cultures to satisfy his curiosity and better understand himself.

He earned his MFA in studio art mainly to become a teacher, aiming to help others find and express their unique voices. He believes that art goes beyond words; mastering a personal medium and expressing oneself nonverbally is both the greatest challenge and strength.

In 2016, Jeremiah was diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer, an experience that profoundly changed his views on visual and written art, reaffirming their role as universal languages. The emotional impact of his diagnosis made him more aware of how often he struggled to find words to describe his experiences. During this difficult period, he wrestled with two fundamental questions: What does it mean to be vulnerable? And how can I communicate that vulnerability?

Guided by these questions, he embarked on a journey of healing and self-discovery through artistic exploration and expression.
